A 97-year-old woman froze to death outside of Louisville assisted living facility, lawsuit says
An elderly woman died after being locked outside a Colorado assisted living facility for over five hours. The woman was experiencing confusion and hallucinations earlier that night. She was supposed to be checked on regularly throughout the night.
She wandered outside, and the door locked behind her. Directly inside, the nurses’ station was left unattended. The woman banged on the doors and window for help, but no one was at the nurses’ station to help. The employees on duty the night of her death lied about checking on her room.
